Following publication of the Shoreline Management Plan, the policies adopted will be put into practice. In the future the SMP Action Plan and the SMP will be reviewed and, where necessary, amended at appropriate intervals to include up-to-date information and reflect changes in national policy guidance. For example, local conditions may change, or further relevant studies or plans may be completed or amended.

January 2011: Post-Adoption Statement published
A ‘Post Adoption Statement' is prepared under the Strategic Environmental Assessment Regulations for each SMP. It outlines how the environment has been taken into account during the development of the plan, and how consultations have influenced the plan.
